From the design of your new roofing to your roofing materials, a company offering [residential roofing in Salt Lake City](https://vertexroofingslc.com/residential-roofing/) will be able to assist you through every step of the roofing process. Before you schedule roof maintenance, it is a good idea to choose a highly rated roofing company near you. Read on to learn about some questions that you should ask your potential roofing contractor.

**Are You Licensed and Insured? **

Before you [schedule services with a roofing contractor](http://www.angieslist.com/articles/6-questions-ask-roofing-companies-when-hiring.htm), it is a good idea to ask the company about their licensing and insurance. In order to legally perform roofing procedures, a roofing contractor must meet all of the state and city’s requirements for insurance. Along with liability insurance, a roofing contractor should also offer worker’s compensation for their employees. This type of insurance will protect you against any liabilities that could occur during your project.

**Do You Work With Subcontractors?**

Along with investigating the licensing and insurance of your roofing contractor, you may also want to ask them whether they work with subcontractors. Occasionally, a contractor may employ a subcontractor to perform the bulk of the repair or installation procedure. In the event that your repairs will be performed by a subcontractor, you will want to ask them about their insurance and licensing as well.

**Can You Provide Reference?**

A quality roofing contractor in your area will have a great reputation in your local community. Before you schedule services with a roofing contractor, you may want to ask them to provide you with references from past clients. By asking for references, you can get a better idea of the quality of work that will be performed. After asking these questions, you will be ready to schedule your repairs with confidence.
